If you’ve been in the San Francisco Bay Area these past few months, one theme has pretty much rung true just about every weekend: Rain! Yes, we’ve had more than than our fair share of it lately! I grew up in Seattle where we wouldn’t see the sun for literally weeks or even months on end, and even I was starting to wonder… So, when the perfect storm seemed poised to drench yet another weekend shoot, we decided it was time to implement plan B: San Francisco City Hall.
You see, this engagement shoot had to happen this day. After all, the bride-to-be was only in town for a few days and was leaving to go back to Calgary, Canada soon (talk about long distance relationship!) and I wasn’t about to let her leave disappointed! I am so glad we relocated to San Francisco City Hall! Despite living in SF for a number of years, I had actually never even been inside City Hall before (yes, hard to believe, huh!). Of course I had seen photographs and we all knew it was beautiful, but nothing could really prepare me for how amazing it was inside! Really, there are endless photographic possibilities and after I showed them a few shots on my camera’s LCD screen, they were up for just about anything I could dream up! It was sooo much fun! Thank you both for your patience as I literally ran around the building with my big cameras searching for the best light, angles, architecture, and anything else I could find (I like to get my workout in too!) The creative possibilities were endless there and I loved every minute of it! You are such a wonderful couple! Enjoy your sneak peek S & K and best wishes to both of you for your wedding in India!
PS, a special thanks also to the rain for helping to make this possible!
I actually took the outdoor shots after we left City Hall. Amazingly, the rain stopped for a few minutes – long enough to get some beautiful shots in the deserted grounds just outside…
